- The first photo (left) shows the frets numbered on the left side
- Remember that frets are the steel bars on your guitar neck
- As guitarists, we never place our finger on top of them; always in between them
- Our fretting hand (middle picture) is numbered as follows: Index 1, Middle 2, Ring 3, Pinky 4
- When reading a guitar chord diagram (furthest right) string 6 is furthest to the left and descends to string 1 which is furthest to the right
